Arrest stories are a commonplace feature of the offseason college football landscape, but CBS Pittsburgh has a report of a sort you don't see every day. This probably has something to do with it containing the phrase "20 bags of heroin."
Three Pitt football players -- tight end Drew Carswell, defensive lineman Khaynin Mosley-Smith and linebacker Eric Williams -- were detained Thursday night after being found in a house invaded by SWAT personnel where, per this report, "Detectives say they seized 20 bags of heroin, a marijuana bong and a copper grinder."
Williams was the only Panthers linebacker to appear in all 13 games last year, and he was moved to free safety prior to spring ball. Carswell appeared in 10 games for the Panthers last season, recording a total of 163 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Mosley-Smith appeared in all 13 games, amassing five solo tackles. The trio has been suspended from the team indefinitely.
WTAE is reporting
that all three players will face drug paraphernalia charges.
