Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron was thrust into the Johnny Manziel circus at SEC Media Days on Thursday, a consequence of Manziel revealing to reporters that McCarron was his roommate at the Manning Passing Academy last weekend. A day after Manziel repeatedly had to defend his actions, McCarron was asked about Manziel's side of the story, which resulted in the reigning Heisman winner's early departure from the camp.
McCarron wouldn't offer any particulars:
Still, several people took McCarron's remarks as swipes at Manziel, particularly the 'Bama quarterback's comments about his high-profile status and his decision not to attend the ESPYs in Los Angeles.
McCarron has a response: Stop misinterpreting my words.
This will surely all get brought up again when Alabama travels to Texas A&M on Sept. 14. Until then, it's probably best to keep things in perspective
