The search to replace Heisman finalist Collin Klein at Kansas State appears to be over. Wildcats coach Bill Snyder announced on Monday that juco transfer quarterback Jake Waters will start in the team's opener against North Dakota State on Saturday.
Waters beat out sophomore Daniel Sams
for the starting role, but Snyder said both quarterbacks will likely see action this season. Sams was used primarily as a runner last fall, rushing for 235 yards and three touchdowns while serving as Klein's backup. Waters, on the other hand, led Iowa Western Community College to an undefeated record and a juco national championship in 2012.
