Penn State released its latest depth chart on Monday, and there is still no resolution to the ongoing quarterback competition in Happy Valley. Coach Bill O'Brien listed both juco transfer Tyler Ferguson and true freshman Christian Hackenberg as co-starters heading into Week 1.
Ferguson and Hackenberg have competed closely over the past few weeks, and while O'Brien initially said he wanted to select a starter midway through fall camp, he has since decided to hold off. Neither Ferguson nor Hackenberg, the team's only two scholarship passers, have played a down for the Nittany Lions.
Penn State opens the season against Syracuse on Saturday.
A few other programs have yet to distinguish a starter under center. USC's latest depth chart listed Max Wittek
and Cody Kessler
as co-starters, while FAU coach Carl Pelini said the Owls
could see all four
of its quarterbacks on the field this fall.
