Johnny Manziel isn't the only Aggie who will miss some playing time early this season. Texas A&M, which faces Rice and Sam Houston State to open the year, has suspended four players for two games over a violation of team rules, according to the university.
Texas A&M's Steven Jenkins, Ed Pope, Gavin Stansbury & De'Vante Harris suspended for first 2 games for violating rules

All four players will be eligible to play against Alabama on Sept. 14. Jenkins (not to be confused with the lead singer of Third Eye Blind) had 79 tackles a year ago at linebacker. Stansbury and Harris are also defensive contributors, while Pope is a redshirt freshman wide receiver. I can't imagine this disciplinary action will have a great impact on the team's chances against Rice or Sam Houston State, but coupled with the Kirby Ennis and Floyd Raven suspensions and the Manziel and Deshazor Everett half-game suspensions, A&M can't exactly afford to suffer any in-game injuries on Saturday.
