Alabama's Ha Ha Clinton-Dix initially ejected for targeting; call overturned
Alabama defensive back Ha Ha Clinton-Dix nearly became the highest-profile player to be ejected behind the NCAA's revamped targeting penalty.
Referees initially ruled that Alabama would be penalized 15 yards for a targeting foul and that Clinton-Dix would be ejected from the game. Officials reviewed the play, however, and ruled that Clinton-Dix could continue playing, though the penalty was still enforced and A&M was given 15 yards and a first down.
Prior to the rule being overturned, some were appalled at the officiating job in College Station: https://twitter.com/daldridgetnt/status/378985661446909952
