Nebraska turned a 21-3 lead over UCLA on Saturday into a 41-21 loss thanks in part to a poor showing on defense. This week one of the Huskers' former quarterbacks, Tommie Frazier, let loose on Twitter regarding his team's recent struggles.
On Sunday Frazier posted a lengthy tweet on Twitlonger calling for mass changes to the Nebraska coaching staff.
A portion of the post:
After letting it sink in for about 4 hours I still struggling. It's time to get rid of the defensive play caller, the Dc, lb dl and db coaches. I hate saying this but this crap is getting old. How in the hell do you not make adjustments or put your players in the position to compete? If this is what is going to happen for the remainder of the season, count me out.
Pelini has won at least nine games in each full season as Nebraska's head coach, but he's often been criticized for never getting the Huskers over the hump to a conference championship or serious national title contention. The coach has yet to win more than 10 games in five seasons in Lincoln.
When asked about Frazier's comments on Monday, Pelini was blunt.
Frazier backed up his comments with a later post Monday. https://twitter.com/TouchdownTommie/status/379672976880566272
