Tennessee coach Butch Jones is switching things up at quarterback this week. Redshirt freshman Nate Peterman will start in place of junior Justin Worley against No. 19 Florida in Gainesville, the team has announced.
Worley started the Vols' first three games this season, going 35-of-57 for 372 yards, five touchdowns and one interception. But Jones announced this week that the quarterback competition would open up heading into the game against the Gators. Worley finished 13-of-25 for 126 yards and one score in a 59-14 loss to No. 2 Oregon last week. Peterman has played in two games in his Tennessee career, both this season, going 6-of-12 for 40 yards. Through Week 3, Florida boasts the SEC's top defense, allowing 208.5 yards per game, and the league's third-best passing defense (158.5). Tennessee is also looking to avoid its ninth straight loss to the Gators.
