Maryland QB C.J. Brown injured vs. Florida State, will not return

cj-brown

During Maryland's game against Florida State on Saturday, Terps quarterback C.J. Brown was injured on what appeared to be an illegal hit by Florida State defensive lineman Jacobbi McDaniel. McDaniel led with the helmet and hit Brown right on the chest, the kind of hit the NCAA's revamped targeting rule is meant to prevent. However, McDaniel was not called for targeting.

Brown was able to leave the field under his own strength, but the injury ended his day on the field.

Brown has missed two full seasons thanks to shoulder and leg injuries in his career, including the 2012 season, which Brown missed with a torn ACL.
