NC State safety Jarvis Byrd tears ACL for third time, out for season

Byrd started as a true freshman in 2009 before suffering his first torn ACL against North Carolina. After missing the 2010 season rehabbing his knee, Byrd suffered a second torn ACL during 2011 summer workouts, missing that season. He only played four games in 2012 thanks to other injuries.Byrd started NC State's first five games this season, tallying 17 tackles. He was injured during the Wolfpack's game against Wake Forest on Oct. 5.
