Texas quarterback David Ash won't return from a head injury this weekend against TCU, the Longhorns announced Sunday night.

Ash continues to suffer from lingering affects of concussion-like symptoms, though Texas head athletic trainer Kenny Boyd told FoxSportsSouthwest.com that Ash is making progress in his recovery.

Ash suffered the concussion in the Longhorns' loss to BYU on Sept. 7 and missed Texas' game against Ole Miss the following week. He returned against Kansas State a week later but sat out the second half of the Longhorns' 31-21 win and didn't play in Texas' last two games against Iowa State and Oklahoma. Case McCoy came in for Ash against the Wildcats and has started in the Longhorns' wins over the Cyclones and the Sooners.
