(At the 6:17 mark in the above video, Jeremy Gallon and Devin Gardner give us a duet rivaling their record-breaking performance against Indiana.)
It's easy for players to be in good moods after setting school (and conference) records for their offensive performances, but this Big Ten Network interview with Michigan quarterback Devin Gardner and wide receiver Jeremy Gallon takes things to the next level.
There are a couple of coachspeak answers sprinkled throughout because any five-plus minute chat with two athletes will produce those, but Gardner and Gallon showed an off-field rapport that fans don't often get to see between a college quarterback and his top wideout. (If you're short on time, skip to about the 2:35 mark in the video.)
The two played off each other very well, and finished the segment by singing a duet of Nat King Cole's L-O-V-E. They also discussed Gallon's short stature, their friendship (and how Gardner helped Gallon move) and each player's preferred means of celebrating during a game (Gardner thanks God; Gallon laughs at the opposition).
Kudos to BTN's Mike Hall for keeping a straight face throughout most of the interview and pushing things along nicely. As far as a Gardner and Gallon musical super group, it's going to need a name (and "The Notorious B1G" is already taken). We're partial to "The Gallon Jugs," but are fully open to "Secret Gardner," "Big Blue Man Group," "The Tune Gs" and "Michigan Men At Work."
