Notre Dame defensive lineman Louis Nix III will not travel for the Fighting Irish's game against Air Force this weekend, Irish Illustrated reports.

Nix, a senior defensive tackle, injured his shoulder late in last week's 14-10 win over USC. He did not return to the game and has not practiced this week. Nix has recorded 22 tackles with two tackles for loss on the season.

Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees, who suffered a neck strain against the Trojans, told the Chicago Tribune's Brian Hamilton that he will "absolutely" start against the Falcons on Saturday. Rees left the USC game during the third quarter, at which point the Irish passing game floundered. Senior backup Andrew Hendrix went 0-for-4 in the second half.
