Florida State jumps past Oregon to No. 2 in the BCS standings; Miami drops to No. 11

The BCS standings flip-flop between Florida State and Oregon continues this week, as the Seminoles jumped back to No. 2 after their convincing 41-14 blowout of previously undefeated Miami on Saturday. Quarterback Jameis Winston wasn’t invincible -- he actually made mistakes! -- but he was able to bounce back from two first-half interceptions to finish 21-of-29 for 325 passing yards. Winston and the 'Noles have proven they're more than worthy of title game consideration, but their lack of remaining marquee matchups could make it very difficult for them to remain ahead of Oregon should the Ducks stay unbeaten. Oregon's schedule the rest of the way, which kicks off with Thursday night's clash against No. 5 Stanford, contains just one meeting with an opponent that doesn’t currently hold a winning record (Nov. 16 against 4-4 Utah). The Seminoles, on the other hand, close the regular season against 4-5 Wake Forest, 4-4 Syracuse, 1-8 Idaho and 4-4 Florida.

Meanwhile, Miami’s loss to Florida State dropped the Hurricanes to No. 11 from No. 7. Notre Dame, which made its first appearance in the BCS standings last week, climbed to No. 23 following a 38-34 win over Navy. And Michigan State knocked in-state rival Michigan out of the Top 25 altogether behind a decisive 29-6 victory in East Lansing. The Spartans moved up to No. 17.
