Georgia Tech looks like it will be without its starting quarterback next season, as Vad Lee has decided to transfer from the Yellow Jackets, JacketsOnline.com reported Thursday. The report was confirmed by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

A redshirt sophomore, Lee will have two seasons of eligibility remaining. He started all of Georgia Tech's games this season, finishing only 82-of-180 passing (45.6 percent) for 1,561 yards, 11 touchdowns and 10 picks in Paul Johnson's triple-option attack. He also rushed 182 times for 513 yards and eight scores.

Lee's decision to transfer reportedly points back to the triple-option itself. According to a tweet from ESPN's Joe Schad, Lee was not a fan of the offensive strategy.

Georgia Tech boasted the country's sixth-best rushing attack this season with just under 300 yards per game on the ground. Lee finished his Yellow Jackets career with a 5-of-17, 147-yard passing performance in a 25-17 loss to Ole Miss in the Music City Bowl. He chipped in a touchdown pass and an interception along with 24 rushing yards.
