The Seminoles needed a big play. Levonte "Kermit" Whitfield gave it to them. The freshman took a kick return 100 yards to the end zone to give Florida State a 24-20 lead with just more than 4:31 remaining -- the 'Noles' first lead since 3-0 in the first quarter. Whitfield didn't have many touches this season, but he was explosive every time he got the ball. As a sendoff to the BCS, this game has certainly delivered. Tigers running back Tre Mason scored just a few plays later to give Auburn a 31-27 lead with 1:19 left.
