Oklahoma's quarterback situation entering 2014 got a little clearer this week. Redshirt sophomore Kendal Thompson announced on Twitter that he has decided to transfer from the Sooners.

In three years on campus, Thompson played in two games and completed 4-of-13 passes for 64 yards and one touchdown, with one interception. His last appearance came in a 33-24 win over Oklahoma State on Dec. 7, when he went just 2-of-9 for 17 yards, with a pick.

Oklahoma has yet to confirm Thompson's announcement, but the son of former Sooners quarterback Charles Thompson made his intentions quite clear on Tuesday night.

Thompson expected to compete for the starting job at Oklahoma in 2013, but a foot injury in fall camp put him behind Trevor Knight and Blake Bell on the depth chart. Knight looks poised to enter spring practice as the team's presumptive starter after a huge performance in a 45-31 Sugar Bowl win over Alabama. He threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns against the Crimson Tide.

Thompson, who is slated to graduate in May, has two years of eligibility remaining.
