Video: Jon Stewart rips NCAA on player compensation, unions on 'The Daily Show'

Comedian Jon Stewart took a jab at the NCAA and its amateurism model on Thursday night's episode of "The Daily Show" on Comedy Central.

Stewart touched on UConn basketball player Shabazz Napier and his comments that student-athletes are often "starving," as well as the latest developments in the Northwestern union case. Stewart jokingly made the parallel between unions and the teamwork that largely defines college sports.

"Since when do unions belong in college sports?" Stewart said. "Unions are socialist and communist collectives. Sports are about people coming together as a group, working towards a common goal from each according to his abilities, putting the team ahead of the -- Oh my God! Wait a minute!"
