Inside Michigan State Spartan Football, A Realistic Look At How Bad the Offense Really Is!

East Lansing, MI

The Michigan State Spartans came into the season with promises of an improved offense from their head coach Mark Dantonio. He told the fans that one reason for all of the excitement was so many returning starters. But unfortunately for Dantonio, those same players are making the same mistakes. That is on coaching.

In the above video, Matt Hladik from TheSpun.com joins us for his weekly visit around college football. But in this video, we are all Michigan State football for you.

How bad is the Spartan offense? Just look at where they rank in the Big Ten?

1. 13th out of 14 teams in scoring offense

2. 13th in rushing offense

3. 8th in passing offense

4. 13th in total offense

But the Big Ten is one of the nation’s best conferences. So in fairness, do they look better nationally? I think not.

1. 98th in the nation out of 130 teams in scoring offense

2. 112th in the nation for rushing offense

3. 68th in the nation for passing offense

4. 100th in the nation for total offense

If you are like me, you understand that the numbers don’t lie. The Spartan offense is abysmal. I have maintained that it is NOT on the players. Mark Dantonio and his staff are in year 13. They wanted these players. They are, “Their” guys.
