Michigan State Target Cade Klubnik: Faith & Football

4-star quarterback, Cade Klubnik put his faith into football to advance towards his dream of playing college football.

“My whole life my biggest goal has been to play college football someday,” Michigan State class of 2022 target, Cade Klubnik said.

Beginning his football career at the age of three, Klubnik is a 4-star quarterback, No. 30 ranked player in Texas, and No. 7 quarterback in the entire 2022 class, according to 247 Sports.

“I’ve always looked up to the guys that are doing the stuff I want to do. It doesn’t feel real sometimes. I’m excited for the season and getting to prove myself.”

Klubnik has a strong work ethic; putting in the extra time off the field. He knows the dedication it takes to get to the level where he wants to be.

“It doesn’t matter if I’m by myself. I’m the type of person to put in extra hours because I know what my goals are. Some people think that they can just go to practices and go to the games, but that’s not always how it is. You feel relieved because you feel like all of that work has paid off so, I take it a step further.”

One thing that helps Klubnik through his life and through football is, his faith.

“’God’s goal is not our comfort. It is our character.’ I got that from one of my old coaches about a year ago. He told me that and it stuck with me. The point isn’t to be there when we’re lost, but we should be living through him every day.”

Building his character, Klubnik is humble, and doesn’t put himself above anybody.

“I know a lot of guys if they were in my situation, they would think they were the biggest dog in the world. But through this process, I’ve made friends with people that I never would’ve thought so.”

Spending every Tuesday with his team and a YOUNGLIFE leader for Westlake High School's football Bible study, Klubnik appreciates his time with his team, football, and his path that led him here.

“This whole journey has been super fun for me; I love playing football. My dream is to step onto the field with hundreds and thousands of fans one day. I never get nervous before games; I don’t think there’s a reason to get nervous when you can enjoy it.”
