The 2020 schedule for the Oklahoma Sooners has been released. Some interesting matchups and games out of their usual places make this one of the more interesting schedules in quite some time.

The most notable non-conference game will be when the Sooners head to West Pointe and play the Army Black Knights.

Rewind back to September 22, 2018. Army comes into Norman with the triple option attack and forces overtime-- much to the chagrin of Sooner nation. After a game sealing interception by Parnell Motley, OU wins by a final score of 28-21. Yes the triple option is hard to prepare for, but poor execution also made it difficult as the Sooner offense, led by Heisman winning QB Kyler Murray, was held scoreless in the second half.

Side note-- next year, the starting QB at Oklahoma, will be starting his first true road game against the Black Knights.

OU opens with home games against Missouri State and Tennessee, both of which the Sooners should be HUGE favorites in.

Then, the Big 12 gauntlet begins.

Big 12 play begins in week 4 as OU hosts Baylor, followed by Texas (Dallas), at Iowa State, Bedlam (OSU), and then at TCU. In terms of a tough stretch, the Sooners luck-of-the-draw was about as tough as they could have received.

The remaining portion of the schedule is favorable as it includes: at WVU, KSU, KU, at Texas Tech.

Interesting notes:

1. Only one BYE week--09/19.

2. How will Tennessee look? Most likely will have a new coach.

3. After Baylor on 10/03, the Sooners play 1 home game (10/24, Bedlam) until 11/14. Four out of five are away from Norman. Always tough in the Big 12.
