Vanderbilt quarterback Riley Neal, a graduate transfer is mature beyond his years, and knows that in college football, nothing is given. That includes his starting job under center for the Commodores.

Asked about the potential to have to continue to compete for his position, Neal shrugged it off as "nothing new."

Head coach Derek Mason told Neal not to look over his shoulder, but backup Deuce Wallace has "earned the right to see the field."

Neal and Wallace are likely both contenting this week for the starting spot against UNLV Saturday when the Rebels visit Vanderbilt Stadium to face the Commodores.
