Movistar unveils team with Quintana, Valverde leaders

MADRID (AP) Movistar unveiled its cycling team with leading duo Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde being joined by four new riders.

At a ceremony in Madrid on Friday, the team said Marc Soler, Ruben Fernandez, Winner Anacona and Rory Sutherland had been signed to the 28-rider squad.

Movistar said in November that Quintana and Valverde would compete in this year's Tour de France and Spanish Vuelta.

Quintana was runner-up in the 2013 Tour but didn't compete in cycling's premier race last year after he won the Giro d'Italia.

The Colombia hill-climb specialist then rode in the Vuelta in September, but his race was cut short when he retired after crashing and breaking a shoulder blade.

Valverde finished last year's Tour in fourth place, and the Vuelta in third.
