Thursday's A.M. Hot Clicks

Kings' Dustin Penner On The Hot Clicks Podcast

Dustin Penner :: AP

Dustin Penner

As regular readers know, Hot Clicks is on the L.A. Kings bandwagon thanks to Dustin Penner and his amusing tweets (such as going after Nickelback and calling out McDonald's). Truth be told, Penner is a Hot Clicks reader, so he was kind enough to do the Hot Clicks Podcast on his off day Wednesday afternoon. We talked about the NHL playoffs, his legacy of being associated with pancakes and stalkers and catfishers. Penner had one woman claim he was marrying her even though they had never met. He also had to take out a restraining order against another woman in Boston, and had to take action against a guy who was impersonating him. You can listen to the podcast below or download it on iTunes or your mp3 player.

Pee-Gate

If you read yesterday's P.M. Hot Clicks, you saw a picture of Eagles offensive lineman Evan Mathisrelieving himself on an IRS building sign. Because Hot Clicks is all about serious journalism on important topics, we reached out to Mathis (who you can follow on Twitter for some solid comedy) to get some more information.

Hot Clicks: Did you actually pee?

Mathis: I'm afraid that if I tell the truth, I'll lose too much street cred.

Hot Clicks: Was it a spur of the moment decision to take the pic?

Mathis: I walked by the IRS building on the way to the Museum of Natural History and had the urge to take some kind of picture. But I was then distracted by the glorious smell of a nearby hot dog stand. On our way back to the subway after leaving the museum, I came up with the idea for the picture.

Hot Clicks: Were you worried about any fallout from the Eagles?

Mathis: I didn't do anything illegal, nor was anyone harmed, so, no.

Hot Clicks: Did you pay your taxes in full this year?

Mathis: I'm actually being audited right now. I'll do my 2012 taxes when that's over. Sadly, I always pay in full.

Sports Video Of The Day

Check out the catch made by New Orleans Saints cornerback Dion Turner at a charity softball game last night. I'm not sure Sean Payton is going to like seeing this, but it's impressive nonetheless. (Thanks to Michael Long, of New Orleans, for the video.)
