Dwyane Wade (sweet kicks) went back into the time machine last night to deliver a sensational performance (32 points, six rebounds, six steals) in leading the Heat to a Game 4 win over the Spurs. It was Wade's first 30-point game since March 4. Here's one more stat to keep in mind in case the Spurs win Game 5 on Sunday: The Heat haven't lost consecutive games since Jan. 8-10. Back to last night: At least these Spurs fans had a pizza to help him deal with the loss.
No Fun League Strikes In The Offseason
Personally, you couldn't pay me to go to an NFL game. The experience is much better on television and I'm Sunday Ticket For Life! However, if you like to attend games, you better read up on the new rules because you basically can't bring anything into stadiums anymore -- unless, of course, you buy one of the NFL's bags and help the league make more money.
It's Good To Be Top Dog
It's a very big no-no for folks at ESPN to criticize ESPN. (The same applies at SI, so don't bother sending me an e-mail to say I'm bashing ESPN.) However, when you're an untouchable as Bill Simmons is, you know you can get away with taking your shots. Simmons, frustrated by a lack of air time following last night's Spurs-Heat game (and, in my opinion, envious of the leeway the TNT studio show gets), took to Twitter. Chances are, ESPN, will give him another Twitter timeout, which only works in Simmons' benefit. I mean, how pathetic does a major money-making corporation look by "suspending" one of its people from TWEETING, as if they're a teacher disciplining a seventh grader.
