Tuesday's A.M. Hot Clicks

Back With A Bang

Bryce Harper :: The Washington Post

Bryce Harper

Cool moment from last night's Nationals game, when outfielder Bryce Harper returned from a five-week stint on the disabled list and homered in his first at-bat. But it was a mixed bag, for Washington play-by-play announcer Bob Carpenter, who said it would be nice if Harper homered in his first at-bat, but then blew the call by saying the ball went off the wall.

Man Down!

A fan at last night's Rays-Astros game took a foul ball right off the top of the head and basically went down as if he had been shot by a sniper.

Quote Of The Day

"Three strippers followed me, I followed them back. Next thing I know I'm in the GM's office. Now I'm off Twitter." This is how Rams first-round pick Tavon Austin explained the dangers of Twitter to a group of high school students yesterday.

Soccer

When Javier Cantero, President of Argentine club, Independiente, tried to meet with fans over the weekend, things didn't go so well. Actually, that's a slight understatement because fans hurled furniture at him.

Kramer Sympathizes

In Monday's P.M. Hot Clicks, my fill-in, Chris Sesno, brought you a Mets fan wearing an Art Vandelay jersey. Not only did this prompt Justin from Baltimore, to let us know that there are 73 Art Vandelays in the U.S., but @abieDweck also let us know about another Seinfeld storyline that's in the headlines today.

Sports Video Of The Day

We can all use a little football in July, so here is Edmonton Eskimos offensive lineman Matt O'Donnell CRUSHING Saskatchewan Roughriders defensive back Diamond Ferri during an interception return. (Thanks to Thomas for the video.)
