TV Nine for IX: Venus Vs., 8:00p.m. (ESPN)

A day after her sister got bounced from Wimbledon, Venus Williams features in a talking-heads documentary about her campaign to force the tournament to award equal prize money to men and women. So at least Serena has Venus to thank for however much she earned in defeat.

Tennis Wimbledon quarterfinals, coverage starts at 7:00a.m. (ESPN, ESPN2 & ESPN3)

The surest of all sure things fell apart when Serena was eliminated yesterday by Sabine Lisicki. Suddenly the Ladies bracket became the most wide open major tennis tournament in recent memory. The road is now clear for the next American hope, Sloane Stephens, who has already garnered some dubious and not so dubious comparisons to Serena.

MLB St. Louis Cardinals vs. L.A. Angels, 10:05p.m. (MLB.tv)

The Giants and Reds get the national spotlight for the second day in a row (7:10 pm, MLB Network), but the eyes of the baseball world will be on Albert Pujols as he faces the Cardinals for the first time in an Angels uniform. For Pujols, seeing his old teammates will surely elicit feelings of nostalgia. For his old teammates, seeing Pujols' current stat line will surely elicit feelings of relief.

Soccer FIFA U20 World Cup: Round of 16, coverage starts 10:47a.m. (ESPNU & ESPN3)

Another entry in the soccer-is-crazy files: After six different tie breakers couldn't separate Greece and Paraguay at the top of Group D, FIFA eventually had to step in and just pick a team to win the group. It's no surprise, with the tournament being played in Turkey, that the Greeks were chosen to be first, giving them the much easier match-up against Uzbekistan.

WNBA Seattle Storm vs. Chicago Sky, 8:00p.m. (ESPN2 & ESPN3)

Tonight offers a chance to catch the slightly-less-heralded member of the WNBA's revolutionary rookie trio, Elena Delle Donne, who is already third in the league in scoring. The game also provides one of those poetic nickname battles. Storm vs. Sky. The purple prose just writes itself.

Golf Golf's Greatest Rounds: 2000 British Open, 8:00p.m. (Golf Channel)

The Golf Channel looks back at happier days, when Tiger Woods was still winning Majors and hadn't yet been introduced to Jesper Parnevik's Swedish au pair. What a fun, naive time.
