I always DVR everything to protect myself from unscheduled naps. (All times Eastern)

Starter

Softball Women's Softball World Cup, USA vs. Canada, 8:00p.m. (ESPN)

Jennie Finch. Jennie Finch. Jennie Finch. (Sorry, that was for the search engines.) Finch isn't on the team anymore, so it's time for you to let these new lovely, talented ladies underhand toss their way into your heart as they take on the world's best teams in Oklahoma City.

Reserves

Soccer Gold Cup Group Play: Panama vs. Martinique, 8:30p.m. & Mexico vs. Canada, 11:00p.m. (Fox Soccer Channel)

Strangely, Mexico and Canada are the teams in a desperate situation after the first round of group play. Here's Mexico coach Manuel de la Torre being pelted with beer by his own fans after a 2-1 loss to Panama.

Soccer UEFA Women's Euro: Norway vs. Iceland, 11:45 a.m. Germany vs. Netherlands, 2:15p.m.(ESPN3)

Here's the Iceland roster:

iceland

One these things is not like the others. Specifically, the woman who isn't a daughter.

Olympic Sports World University Games: Men's Basketball, USA vs. Australia, 7:00p.m. (ESPNU)

I once attended an Australian National Basketball League game in Sydney. They did a kiss cam, but it was clear they had just hooked a camcorder up to the jumbo screen, complete with the remaining battery life and timecode on the big screen. It was a sad display, just as this game will likely be.

Racing Global Rallycross Championships, 5:30p.m. (ESPN3)

NASCAR with jumps. What's not to like?

Cycling Tour De France: Stage 12, 8a.m. (NBC Sports Network & NBC Sports Live Extra)

The viral-level stories from this race are starting to stack up to an unbelievable degree. There has been a bus crash, a nearly-crushed canine, fan sabotage, trick riding, a clotheslined fan and, as today's entry, British racer Mark Cavendish receiving a decidedly undesired golden shower.

Deep Bench

Outdoor Orienteering World Championships: Long Distance Finals, 6:00p.m. (Universal Sports Network)

Orienteering combines distance running with navigation. Racers are given a map for a course they've never seen and have to read their way through a series of checkpoints at full gallop. It's like having to run home on your walk of shame from a neighborhood you don't know after a night lost to the bottle.
