I know you're probably expecting me to wax poetic about Mariano Rivera, but I'll do that when he plays his final game for the Yankees and pitches the ninth inning, instead of the eighth. However, it was very cool to see the reaction he got from his fellow All-Stars when he entered last night's game. And while many of you like to bash the hell out of Joe Buck (unfairly, in my opinion) give him a lot of credit for getting out of the way and letting that special moment happen without any commentary.
This Is Genius
As usual, Rivera entered the game to Metallica's Enter Sandman. This prompted Tim McCarver to recite the lyrics. The creative folks at Deadspin took this amazing piece of audio and dubbed it over Prince Fielder's triple from the game. The result is pure video magic.
He's So Grounded
As you probably know by now, one fan decided to run on the field during last night's game. The best thing about his stunt was that he argued with his mom via text message before the big moment.
