Moss, who played last season with the 49ers, hosted The Randy Moss Horseshoe Tournament in Charleston, West Virginia on Saturday afternoon. Born and raised in nearby Rand, Moss partnered up with Charleston mayor Danny Jones to compete. It didn't take long for Moss to start jawing with the competition, including Rand resident Jeff Weems.

"He threw one lucky ringer," Moss said, shaking his head as the game continued.

That didn't sit well with Weems.

His next toss, after Moss called him lucky, struck bulls-eye.

"Is that luck, what you say dog?" Weems taunted. "Bam. Don't piss me off."

Moss and the mayor lost to Weems 21-3, but the notoriously mercurial Moss was good-natured in defeat. Beloved by West Virginians, Moss stuck around to smile big with the eventual champs and other tournament attendees. Moss's timing was good, too. Jones will head to the world tournament in St. George, Utah to try and convince the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association to hold a convention in Charleston.
