Tom Brady was so bad yesterday, he couldn't have hit Marcia in the nose with the football. Send any suggestions to SI.TheLineup@gmail.com. (Bold indicates a national broadcast. All times Eastern.)

Pregame Reads

  • Part III of SI's investigation into OSU football looks at the culture of drugs within the team.
  • Jay Caspian King of Grantlandintroduces you to the other guy in tomorrow's fight of the century, Canelo Alvarez.
  • Matt Himton of Deadspinwonders whether Lane Kiffin has the worst player-talent-to-games-won ratio of any coach out there.

Starter

MLB Yankees vs. Red Sox, 7:10p.m. (MLB Network)

What do you think would be more upsetting to Yankees fans: Having Derek Jeter play just 17 games this season, or riding a hot streak by Alex Rodriguez into an unexpected playoff berth? Well the former happened and the latter is becoming increasingly possible. There may soon not be much patience for Ichiro and his "pretend the fly ball is a home run" gag.

College Football

MLS

Real Salt Lake vs. Seattle Sounders, 10:00p.m. (NBC Sports & NBC Sports Live Extra)

The phenomenon that is the rabid following for Seattle's MLS club has been drawing a lot of attention lately, even catching the eye of Bryant Gumbel. Another crowd of 50,000 plus is expected for this one as the best record in the league is up for grabs. Expect some theatrics along the lines of this incredible display, which is apparently called a tifo.

Bellator MMA, 9:00p.m. (Spike)

Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders: Making the Team, 9:00p.m. (CMT)

I mentioned this show last week and got 5X the page views I normally get. I've learned where my bread is buttered. Here's a clip of the girls talking about makeup or something, you little pervs.

Deep Bench

Water Polo: Santa Clara vs. Princeton, 6:30p.m. (ESPNU)

With all of the attention college football gets, it's easy to forget that there are other athletic endeavors taking place at universities. Watch these two top-20 teams do battle and think of a world free of excessive bloviating while you pity the broadcasters that have to try to make an appetizing presentation out of one of the world's least photogenic sports. Even a clip labeled "best goal ever !!!" is hard to get too excited about visually.
