Get a Hall of Fame Jockey's View of a Race

Friday October 11th, 2013

Head-mounted cameras like GoPro and Google Glass have been allowing the layman to get a POV look at everything from an NFL practice to paint-balling with an NBA center, but this newest video from Hall of Fame jockey John Velazquez may be the most interesting yet.

With a camera and some clever use of YouTube's pop-up text feature, Velazquez gives the viewer a look at what a jockey sees and thinks during a thoroughbred race, as he rides a 2-year old colt to a third place finish at Keeneland Race Course in Kentucky.

The only thing that could make this video better is if they had put the glasses on the horse. So get to work on that ASAP, science. [Deadspin]
