Jonathan Martin Text Reveals NFL Media and Fans as Confused by Memes

In his big interview with FOX's Jay Glazer, Richie Incognito tried to prove the abusive texting with Jonathan Martin was a two-way street, citing a time Martin sent him, "‘I will murder your whole effing family."

Martin's attorney, David Cornwell, responded by posting the real text from Martin to Incognito, which turned out just to be the stupid dog meme pictured above.

This weird intersection of lowest-common-denominator internet humor and serious NFL news, however, left many confused in the wake, particularly sports media members completely confounded about what a meme is:
