LeBron James Won't Wear the New LeBron James Shoes

Remember the old Air Jordan commercial where Spike Lee's Mars Blackmon can't figure out what makes Michael Jordan so great, and settles on the theory that it's gotta be the shoes? It appears as though LeBron James is a subscriber to that idea. According to the Wall Street Journal, he's only worn his new Nike LeBron 11's -- which retail for $200 --  for two full games (Miami's played 19), instead opting to primarily sport last year's model.

Paraphrasing LeBron's manager Maverick Carter, it isn't that the new shoes suck, per se, so much as that they aren't ideal. The story also quotes SneakerNews.com editor Brendan Dunne as saying that this situation is highly unusual. LeBron himself gave credence to the notion that he's dissatisfied with the sneakers.

"I could wear them, but they don't feel as great as I want them to feel," he told Darren Rovell. "So we're redefining them, and I feel like this next round is going to be perfect."
