Former Broncos quarterback and current ESPN analyst Tim Tebow has been offered the opportunity to play in the new A11 Football League. According to Scott McKibben, the league's commissioner and CEO, "We have given Tim Tebow a proposed offer to play in the league. At this point Tim has not responded, we respect that." McKibben indicated that the offer had initially been extended to Tebow prior to him signing with the Patriots last summer and is still in good standing.

Currently the league only has six franchises -- the New Jersey Generals, the Chicago Staggs, the LA Express, the Bay Area Sea Lions, the Tampa Bay Bandits and the Dallas Wranglers -- but according to Woody Paige of The Denver Post, "Tebow's reps have been approached about the former Broncos QB playing in the league, and a franchise most likely will be awarded soon to Denver."

The A11FL's games will take place during the spring and it has already been financed (always nice with these type of things) and landed a partnership with ESPN, which will broadcast two showcase games that the league with put on later this year. Full league play, with eight participating teams, is expected to begin in 2015.

The league's name is adopted from the innovative A-11 offense in which certain formations are used to disguise which players are eligible to catch a pass on any given play. Here are a few examples of the A-11 at work at the high school level:

Tebow reportedly had an out-clause in his contract with ESPN if an NFL team were to show interest in him, but it's not clear if said-clause also translates to non-NFL teams. It could possibly be a moot point regardless since most of Tebow's work with the SEC network will occur in the fall, while the A-11 will have games take place during the spring.

Anyhow, here's a video of Tim Tebow beating the Steelers in the playoffs from what seems like a lifetime ago:
