What would happen if Marvel and DC superheroes had participated in the Sochi Games? Well, first of all, they likely wouldn’t put up with the subpar toilet situation. Beyond that, the heroes would make some unorthodox decisions—or so suggests the art of Italian illustrator Francesco Francavilla.

During the Sochi Games, he created a series of impressive sketches featuring the likes of Batman and Wolverine participating in the Winter Olympics. Should Batman be wearing a cape in a sport where drag is undesirable? Would the Captain America be able to steer his shield down a luge track without runners? Could Flash maintain an edge on his skates while moving at superhuman speeds? Sure our Olympics ended a week ago, but on Earth-2 this could all be happening right now.
