Chelsea Handler Hates A-Rod

Chelsea Handler, take a bow. The Chelsea Lately host appeared on The Howard Stern Show yesterday and shared this story about Alex Rodriguez. Apparently, the suspended Yankee third baseman ran into Handler and asked why she always makes fun of him on her show. She replied, "Get away from me, you’re disgusting.” The persistent A-Rod then complimented Handler and said that he's a big fan of her books. Her reply: "I don’t know why you’re a big fan. I think you’re a f—ing a--hole." And with that, Chelsea Handler earned a spot in the (non-existent) Hot Clicks Hall of Fame.
Tales From the Greek Freak
Giannis Antetokounmpo has quickly become the NBA's most lovable rookie. The Bucks forward, who hails from Athens and has taken on the moniker The Greek Freak, was profiled in this week's SI. The story contains this funny item about Antetokounmpo going to Western Union to send money to his family in Greece. Only, he sent all his money and didn't have enough left for cab fare, forcing him to run to Bradley Arena so he wouldn't miss the game. Luckily, he was picked up by a couple a mile before the arena, gave him a ride the rest of the way.

Bill Walton = Not a NFL Fan
Colts quarterback Andrew Luck was on hand for yesterday's Stanford-Colorado game and Bill Walton was not impressed. The NBA Hall of Famer was calling the game for ESPN, and when partner Dave Pasch asked what he thought of Luck, Walton said nothing. It was a painful, awkward silence. I say fire Pasch and hire this guy to broadcast games.
Feel-Good Story of the Day
Cayden Taipalus, a third grade student at Michigan's Challenger Elementary, was upset that a student was denied a hot lunch and had to settle for a cheese sandwich because his lunch account was empty. So eight-year-old Taipalus launched a fundraising campaign to help buy lunches for students who don't have enough money in their account. He has already raised nearly $20,000.
Feel-Bad Story of the Day
The 80-year-old widow of a retired LIRR engineer is being forced to repay nearly $27,000 in excess pension benefits that the couple received because of an agency clerical error. She was told that a "processing error" in 1995, when her husband turned 65 and his pension kicked in, had resulted in the couple receiving an overpayment of $124.80 a month for 214 months.

Tommy Lasorda may have been caught napping in this 2007 photo but he was wide awake during last night's Clippers-Suns game. The former Dodgers manager, who is now 86, attended the game in Phoenix last night and gave a pep talk to Chris Paul and Co. after halftime. The speech worked, as the Clippers outscored the Suns 37-18 in the third quarter on their way to a 104-96 victory. For more vintage sports photos, follow the SI Vault on Twitter.
