Lil Boosie—Rapper, Novice LSU Booster—Makes Anti-Alabama Pitch to Prep Footballers

Less than a week after at his release from prison for several drug charges, Baton Rouge-based rapper Lil Boosie is back to the business of music -- and of recruiting high school football players to LSU. As he said in an interview with LSU's student-operated Tiger TV:

“First I want to talk to all the kids in high schools, all the stars: Man, go and come to Baton Rouge. Go and put on that yellow jersey, man. Y’all keep putting on that red and white, Nick Saban getting all our recruits. We ain’t getting all the recruits like we used to! … That’s shakin’ up the scene, ya heard? So we need to bring back them number one players and you know, and get it back together man. ‘Cuz I’m gonna bet the house on LSU. Win, lose or draw.”

Indeed, Alabama has dominated LSU in recruiting throughout Boosie's prison stint. No doubt the rapper's entreaty will change that.
