During a match against Mainz, the 26-year-old Augsburg goalkeeper made an impressive save using only his head. Unfortunately, things quickly went downhill from there.

After the initial head deflection, Hitz attempted to secure the ball but was beat to the spot by his own teammate. For Hitz it was a case of being in the wrong place at the wrong time as his own defender accidentally drilled him in the face with the ball, as it eventually made its way into the Augsberg net.

Mainz came away with a 3-0 victory while Hitz came away with a hefty welt of embarrassment.
