Stephon Marbury is Now an Honorary Chinese Citizen, Has Key to Beijing
As a reward for leading the Beijing Ducks to the CBA championship last week, Stephon Marbury has been awarded “honorary citizenship” in Beijing, along with a key to the city.
Following the ceremony, Marbury tweeted on Sina Weibo (the Chinese Twitter) that he will fight for Beijing for the rest of his life. He also vowed to a fan he will get better at speaking Chinese.
(For what it's worth, he told me he'd eventually be fluent in the language three years ago)
