It appears Jim Thome hasn't thrown a baseball since 2012.

Last night, the former all-star was asked to throw out the opening pitch for the Charlotte Knights, the Triple-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, and ended up going just a bit outside.

Then again, maybe we shouldn't be surprised by this. "I've never [thrown an opening pitch]," Thome told reporters before the game. "I just got done playing so this'll be the first time."

I realize the man hasn't played professionally in two years, but yeesh, he could have at least warmed up beforehand. [SportsNation]
