Golfer John Peterson knew he'd be dealing with some gnarly hazards in Louisiana's Zurich Classic. But he probably wasn't expecting it to come in the form of a deadly reptile.

During Friday's second round at TPC Louisiana, Peterson made his way to a previously hit shot that found itself sandwiched between a water hazard and an alligator.

Luckily, Peterson -- a former LSU graduate and possibly accustomed to dealing with murky water serpents -- eventually took matters into his own hands, pushing the animal away with a sand rake.

Sadly, gator control was about the only highlight of the day for Peterson who ended up missing the cut just hours later. [Pro Sports Daily]
