Browns Season Ticket Sales Have Gone Through the Roof #AfterManzielGotDrafted
Although he had to wait a little longer than he anticipated (which resulted in the hashtag #BeforeManzielGetsDrafted taking over Twitter), when Johnny Football finally found his landing spot in Cleveland it was clear that the two sides were excited about the match.
The Cleveland Browns fan base, which hasn't had too much to celebrate in recent years (or decades, really), is apparently fully on board with the new Johnny Football-era that the franchise has just embarked on. Shortly after the pick was announced, Cleveland fans were already making moves to purchase season tickets:
Within 25 minutes of Johnny Manziel pick, #Browns had sold 200 new season ticket accounts and had 300 renewals.— Tony Grossi (@TonyGrossi) May 9, 2014
And things only progressed from there:
A major thank you to the folks in our ticket office for working OT, phone lines are ringing off hook" #teamwork— Cleveland Browns (@Browns) May 9, 2014
Paolantonio: "The #Browns sold 1,200 season tickets last night after they were averaging about 40 per day. No one went home last night."— ESPNJohnnyCleveland (@ESPNCleveland) May 9, 2014
After years of disappointment, it's nice to see the fans of Cleveland reinvigorated. Here's to hoping that Manziel's presence will result in the end of the city's quarterback woes, as opposed to yet another addendum.
