Tottenham Player Tackles Ref In Charity Match, Ref Flops

Tottenham Hotspurs midfielder Lewis Holtby aimed a slide tackle for referee Howard Webb during a charity match, and after the ref playfully flopped to the ground following contact, he made sure to return the favor with a shove to Holtby's back.

Surely many a soccer player has fantasized about taking a ref out with a slide, but Holtby was clever enough to disguise it as a moment of playfulness during an exhibition, insulating him from the punishment that would follow if anyone tried this in a real game.

It is also a testament to how deeply ingrained in the sport flopping has become that even a ref heads straight for the ground as soon as there is contact.
