Watch: Rugby Player Stomps on Face of Opponent

Nobody will ever deny that rugby is one of the most painful sports on the planet, but despite the brutality, most players do what they can to play the game with honesty and integrity.

Of course, like most sports, there's always a bad apple in the bunch, which we came across today during a match between the Sharks (South Africa) and Canterbury Crusaders (New Zealand) in Christchurch, New Zealand.

As the action unfolded just yards ahead of Sharks flanker Jean Deysel, he noticed Crusaders player Jordan Taufua down on the pitch.

He could have continued to make his way towards the action, but instead decided to deliberately kick the face of Taufua, which lead to Deysel's immediate ejection.

As for Taufua, he tweeted after the game that he was fine outside of a handful of stitches. He also forgave Deysel for his actions, "I just told him ‘no hard feelings mate, it's a contact sport'."
