Hero Cat Paws Out the First Pitch at Minor League Baseball Game
Can we all just stop for a moment and admire the headline above. It all feels like the culmination of the Internet. This is what it's all been leading to.
Anyhow, about that hero cat.
So last week, a video emerged of a cat saving a young boy after a dog snuck up on him and began attacking. It's actually pretty cool:
Now, as one might imagine, the cat, which is named Tara, became a minor celebrity. In addition to appearing on The Today Show with her family, Tara was invited to throw out the first pitch for Monday night's minor league game between the Lancaster JetHawks and the Bakersfield Blaze.
How does a cat throw out a first pitch? After all, it's quite clear that Tara lacks strength and opposable thumbs. Well, it seems all you really need is a little imagination and low standards:
I'm not sure what I was expecting, but oddly enough I think this is far from the worst first pitch I've ever seen:
After the toss, Tara was quick to make excuses on her official Twitter account, which of course exists because of course:
Well, I gave it my best shot, but my humans really got in the way. Everyone knows I'm left pawed.— Tara Hero Cat (@taraherocat) May 21, 2014
