Adidas Pranks Dutch Soccer Club Ajax With Horrible New Jerseys
Adidas decided to play a prank on Dutch soccer club Ajax by calling in their manager and some star players to show the ridiculous new designs the company has put together for the team.
The kits call on Dutch heritage with tulips and lions, and just for good measure they throw in a few others including a minor-league-baseball-ready tuxedo jersey. Needless to say the players and manager Frank de Boer were relieved not to have to take the field in tie-dye jerseys in the UEFA Champions league.
de Boer sums the team's reaction up when he tells Ajax marketing director and former player Edwin van der Sar "I have the feeling that we won't be taken seriously," which is a strong candidate for understatement of the year.[Lookit]
