Metta World Peace Will Coach a HS Girls Basketball Team

Charlotte Bobcats v New York Knicks

There's really no end to the bizarre life and times of Metta World Peace.

The former NBA All-Star and Defensive Player of the Year will be brought on as an assistant coach for the girls basketball program at Palisades High School in California, because that seems safe.

Head coach Torino Johnson said he's excited to have the 34-year-old Peace on his staff in part because "we're both into mental health awareness." The two met while Peace's daughter was enrolled at a middle school in Los Angeles. Johnson said they've been talking about the opportunity for years, and with some time now on his hands as a free agent, Peace told Johnson "Give me a title!"

No word yet on whether Peace will teach the ladies how to also fight fans.
