There's a WhiteHouse.gov petition to re-name Ronald Reagan Airport after Tim Howard

Everyone was pretty impressed with Tim Howard's performance in the USMNT's game against Belgium yesterday. And now American fans are demanding some change they can actually believe in -- a change in the name of the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.

An official WhiteHouse.gov petition was started to change the name of DC's airport to honor a more recent American hero -- Tim Howard. Although the United States lost the match to Belgium and was eliminated from the World Cup, Howard is pretty much universally regarded as an American hero, and became only the third player ever to win Man of the Match while playing for a losing team.

The petition states, "We politely request that we rename the airport to recognize his accomplishments, and meritorious service to the United States of America." The petition only needs about 96,000 more signatures to get the administration to respond. Will you lend your name to the cause?
