Minor league GM volunteers to get a prostate exam during a game

The Myrtle Beach Pelicans may be hosting one of the strangest seventh inning stretches of all time on Thursday.

The Pelicans are planning a prostate cancer awareness promotion for their Thursday game so general manager Andy Milovich has agreed to get a prostate exam while singing "Take Me Out To The Ballgame" if a local 10-year old fighting brain cancer receives 10,000 likes on her Facebook page, according to ESPN's Darren Rovell.

The idea came while Milovich was promoting the game on a local radio program and the hosts posted the challenge to him. The GM then decided to use the promotion to garner attention for Fallon Emery, who was diagnosed with brain cancer seven months ago.

If the goal is met, Milovich will have the exam while performing the classic song, reports Rovell.

"It's not like I would be getting it at home plate," Milovich said. "I'll likely do it from our radio booth and the fans will see me from the shoulder up."

As of Monday afternoon, Fallon was at 9,351 likes.
